Operating Systems. Effective December 1, 2007, CMI will load refurbished PCs with Microsoft Windows XP Professional, depending on the hardware capabilities of the particular PC. CMI will request that the end-user make a donation to CMI for the cost of these operating systems according to the schedule below.
Application Software. CMI will also load, as the baseline applications program, the most current version of Open Office, an open source application with all the functionality of the most current Microsoft Office products, which is gaining a large clientele worldwide and which is essentially freeware. Although this is a no-cost system, CMI will ask a donation as indicated in the schedule below.

Plans are under way and equipment is being prepared for shipment to the Congo. 250 complete systems are being packed for shipment. Tentative ship date is Friday, October, 30
On Saturday, February 13, 2010, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Computer Ministry, Inc., will hold their first computer equipment Recycle Day for calendar year 2010.
New Federal and State Regulations (Act 101), regarding disposal of Class C Hazardous Waste (TV, Computer Monitors, etc. containing lead), will be adhered to by CMI. CMI now charges $5.00 per monitor that is larger than the 17” monitor criteria of being operational, and no screen burn. In addition to the monitors, CMI will accept ink jet printers, scanners, FAX machines, and gaming peripherals as donations only as scrap. We will continue to accept laser printers and plotters in working condition.

On August 25, Computer Ministry, Inc (CMI) delivered 133 workstations to representatives RPXI out of Dehli, NY, who will deliver the workstations to needy recipients in Bogota, Columbia. Rotary International is sponsoring the shipment of which the workstations were just a part. Other material for the shipment was delivered to the Mission Central facility in Mechanicsburg, PA. All materials were then loaded into a shipping container which departed for the container ship at 2:45 that afternoon.
CMI, RPXI, and Rotary International would like to express their thanks to all who have helped to make this project a success. Below are a couple of photos of the workstations and some of the CMI staff who help load the container.
